Porsches To Pinckney Moves To Oxford, Ohio!
A Great Location for a New Tradition
For the last two years, Mid-Ohio Region Porsche Club has hosted a fun
Porsche gathering in Pinckney, Michigan. For 2005, this event is moving to
Oxford, Ohio - which is a truly great venue for a gathering of Porsche
lovers.
PORSCHES TO OXFORD (P2O) will take place on Saturday July 30, 2005.
For those of you familiar with Oxford (the home of Miami University), you
realize we are getting the entire downtown area that has the park, fountain,
grass plaza, and band shell. This event initially started in 2003 as a
simple excuse for a bunch of Porsche lovers to take a road trip and to have
dinner together. Last year over 100 P-cars attended the event held in
Michigan. On the agenda for this casual day of enjoying Porsches and their
owners is a Participant's Choice Car Show, and a scenic cruise to Hueston
Woods State Park -- which promises to be the longest moving line of Porsches
in Ohio history!
We have chosen the Elms Hotel (a two year old Holiday Inn) as our "host
destination." The Elms is perfectly located right in the heart of Oxford.
Adjacent across the street is a parking garage offering covered, secured,
parking for those choosing to spend Friday and/or Saturday nights in Oxford.
We also have a block of rooms reserved for our group at the Best Western
motel which is just a few blocks from downtown.
Saturday night we will have 45 East Bar and Grill (a local, Oxford
eating/gathering place) all to ourselves. With a great menu and a
convenient location, this will be the perfect place for 300 Porsche lovers
to get together on Saturday night for dinner, beverages, and more story
telling.
Downtown Oxford offers some great shopping as well as a large number of restaurants - offering literally something for every taste. For those of you
who have never toured the beautiful Miami University Campus, it too is
within easy walking distance of the downtown area.
Pre-registration for P2O is only $15 per car and includes one event
T-shirt with each registration. Those choosing to wait and register the day
of show will also pay only $15, but will receive no T-shirt. All monies
raised through registration and T-shirt sales are spent on door prizes that
will be given out throughout the day.
Advance registrations are strongly encouraged and can be made using the
Porsches to Oxford website, www.porsches2oxford.com .
If you only attend one Porsche event in
the summer of 2005, this is the one you don't want to miss! With its
convenient proximity to Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, Indianapolis,
Louisville and Lexington, PORSCHES TO OXFORD will indeed be a "great
location for a new tradition."
